Meet a playful naughty monkey Bobo! He likes to play with kids and make new friends. You can carry this amigurumi monkey wherever you go or just use him as a home decor by placing him on a bookshelf, office desk, or on a window.

Crochet your own little monkey with the help of our step-by-step amigurumi pattern! Pick any colors for body, hands, foot pads, and face! Add decorations or embroidery to personalize with a name, message, or artwork.

Supplies:

  • Super fine 100% acrylic yarn (200 m / 50 g) in beige and brown colors
  • 2.0 mm crochet hook
  • 10 mm safety eyes
  • Buttons for joining arms and legs (Ø 15 mm – 4 pcs, Ø 17 mm – 4 pcs)
  • Fiberfill for stuffing
  • Thread strong enough for fastening arms and legs
  • Satin ribbon
  • Scissors and sewing needle

Skill level: intermediate

If you use the suggested yarn and hook the monkey size will be about 14 cm (5.5″). You can also use DK yarn and 3.0 mm crochet hook for this toy, but note that your monkey will be bigger.

Put outer part of the ear together with inner part (wrong side to wrong side) and crochet through both parts as follows:

Stuff with fiberfill. Take a strong thread and fold it several times. Pass the thread ends through the button (Ø 15 mm) and tie a knot. Insert the button in the arm and output the thread ends between Rnd 22 and Rnd 23.

Cut off the yarn. Pass the yarn end through all front loops with your hook or sewing needle and pull to close the hole. Fasten off and weave in the end.

Take the thread ends left outside the leg and pull them trough between Rnd 9 and Rnd 10 of the body. Then take one more 17 mm button and pull the thread ends through it. Tighten as much as possible and tie two knots. Now the leg button joint is finished. Attach the second leg in the same way and continue crocheting the body.

Assembly:
1. Sew head to the body.
2. Sew the bottom part of the muzzle to the head under the eyes. Put some fiberfill inside the muzzle before you finish.
3. Sew belly to the body at the level of Rnds 10-19.
4. Sew ears to the head at the level of Rnds 18-20.

5. Sew tail to the body at the level of Rnd 10.
6. Embroider nostrils and mouth.
7. Tie a bow on the neck with satin ribbon.
