Hi đ thank you for a great pattern! Unfortunately i have a little problem with understanding a part of it- BODY RND 52-56. Would it be possible to explain it in a diffrent way? Thank you!
Hi Izet, I added the instructions, please check them.

What is a magic ring?. Ive been crocheting over 40 years and never heard of this.
Hi Gail, here is a video-tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p298HxgsO1s Instead of magic ring you can crochet in the second ch from hook.
Thank you Gail….Me neither!
I guess we Amigurumi specialists (haha!) start all our projects with this. Wrap a loop of yarn around your two fingers – crossing it. Slip your hook under the first half of the “X” and over the second. You will have a loose yarn over your hook – and at this point – wrap your yarn around this uplifted piece to make a slip knot – and the circle will be hanging from it with a loose tail dangling outside the circle.
You put your hook through this small circle; yarn over; pull through to make a single stitch which is going to be over this circle of yarn. Put 6 stitches in the magic circle and pull the loose tail and the circle closes into a perfectly started round.
It’s okay to chain 3 – loop 3rd and 1st together and then go back through this little opening to make a circle of six too. This is modified – not really a magic circle but I’m sure it looks just as good – and is easier sometimes! Look on You Tube and watch a person who does something called “Yarn Scrap Fridays” and she teaches how to make a magic circle.
I’m having the same problem as Izet. Body round 52-56… is this a base to be sewn onto head?
Pattern is adorable. Thanks
Sorry, just seen your explanation, thank you đ€
I like the Giraffe pattern! Thank you very much!
What size yarn is used?
Hi Chelsea, please use fingering yarn.
I love the pattern but you never explained how to attach the head to the body.
Hi Dawn, sew head to the neck along the neck border.
Great patern, thank you so much, I’m gonna crochet this for my baby girl âĄ
Great!đč
How do you add the heart? do i finish it off at the end of each row or keep it attached and just move the yarn up to the next line. and are we supposed to be using crochet thread-yarn? or regular yarn?
Hi Kasi, don’t cut off the yarn at each row when making the heart. The yarn used for the heart is of the same weight as the yarn used for the giraffe.
Hello & Thank You for sharing your patterns, they are so adorable!!!! You are truly gifted.
In regards to your cute HEARTY GIRAFFE pattern I was wondering if you remember how you made the scarf?
Also, could I have your opinion on doing it in worsted weight yarn.
Hi Kerry, to crochet the scarf you should make a chain of appropriate length, then crochet two rows of double crochet stitches. If you use worsted weight yarn, your giraffe will be bigger. So it’s up to you đ
hi. your doll is very cute. thanks tor sharing the pattern.
đđđ
Making this now! Love the giraffe. I am having issues figuring out how to attach the head to the body. I was hoping you could tell me how. Or a picture of the back/side of the head. Thanks in advance!
Hi Erin, sew the head along the border of the neck. I added some new pictures.
Jâaimerais beaucoup avoir une image me montrant comment attacher la tĂȘte au cou. Merci
Having the same problem
Hello, strange…..yesterday I left a reply and now it’s gone? I try again! First of all thanks for the beautifull pattern, I love it. I also had a problem with round 52-56, I saw the explanation and I understand most of it only for 1 thing. I really don’t understand round 52: Crochet 8 sc, turn? Is this a chain? because in all the other rounds you say .. sc in the next .. st?? Also the number of 8 I don’t understand because in round 53-56 you go from 13 till 10. I hope you will answer me so I can go on with my giraffe, thanks!
Hi Monique, the 8 stitches in the Rnd 52 are single crochet stitches. They are needed to make the protruding part of the neck on the back side. I added some instructions and new pictures in the pattern. Please have a look.
Hi,
I saw your added instructions for row 52-56. My question is row 52 is 8 stitches, then you do 13 in the next row so when you run out at 8 stitches tdo you go in row below? Thank you
Hi ,
I have the same problem.I hope Monique can see and answer it.Thanks a lot!!!!
Hi Jacqueline, I counted 38 rounds not taking into account the first 11 rounds. I updated the pattern and added some instructions with new pictures. Please check it đ
Hi, your patterns are great. And answering all of the above questions shows you have the patience of a saint. It is so generous of you to share. I’ve been crocheting for 46 years and I also teach it, sometimes that can be quite a chore. And writing patterns is another whole story in itself. Not everyone understands at the same level. Thanks again for sharing
Hi Vicki! Thanks a lot for kind words đ
What an adorable pattern! Could you post a picture of the side view of the finished giraffe and the back showing the head placement? Thanks! đ
Hello! Thank you for this great pattern. I have a problem with the body. I am crocheting this backside for the head, but it’s not in the back like the pattern says. It is more between front and sode, so the heart won’t be in front of the tummy. The number of stitches is actually correct..what can I do?
Hi Antje, the heart isn’t located just in front of the tummy. It’s slightly aside. So if you want it to be in the middle of the tummy you have to change the position of upper part of the neck.
How do I print this pattern? I do not see instructions to print.
Hi Lila, you can find printable pdf-version of the pattern here >> https://shop.amigurumi.today/products/hearty-giraffe-amigurumi-pattern-printable-pdf
I have just another question. Is this pattern crocheted in rounds with sl st? Or in spirals?
Hi Antje, in spirals đ
Thanks for replying! One last question: How did you crochet the little flower on the scarf?
Flower:
Rnd 1: 5 sc in magic ring
Rnd 2: (2 ch, 2 dc in next st, 2 ch, sl st in the same st) repeat 5 times (= 5 petals), sl st. If you want 6 petals make 6 sc in the Rnd 1.
Thank you so much
Lovely pattern. I have a question. Did you use cotton or acrylic yarn?
50% cotton – 50% acrylic is the best đ
Hi this pattern is gorgeous Is the giraffe made using DK wool please
It’s a fingering yarn.
In which row have you attached the eyes?
Hi Maxime, this is up to you đ
I love this! Thank you for the pattern. Is there directions for the scarf? I see the directions to make the flower. Thank you!
Hi Louella, to crochet the scarf you should make a chain of appropriate length, then crochet two rows of double crochet stitches.
Can I use double knitting yarn if so what size hook will I use please thanks it’s a lovely patern x
Yes, but note that in case of using thicker yarn your giraffe will be bigger. Please choose the hook in accordance with your yarn, because DK yarn has a wide range of thickness and thread volume.
I love this giraffe, it is so cute !
When I try to download the pattern the link takes me to the ‘shop’. Do I pay via PayPal please?
Thank you for your help,
Donna
Hi Donna, sorry, but you can not pay via PayPal now. But we’re working on it, hope it will be available soon.
Hi!
This is such a great patterns but unfortunately I cannot get the free pattern to print.
All I get to print is the header of the page nothing else.
Please let me know if I am doing something wrong.
Thanks for your time
Hi Noella, you can buy pdf version of the pattern in our store https://shop.amigurumi.today/products/hearty-giraffe-amigurumi-pattern-printable-pdf
I’ve been crocheting for a bit now and while I love amigurumi, I steer clear of it. However, when I saw this Hearty Giraffe, I knew I had to make it, and i did make it. So lovely! The instruction is so clear. Thanks a lot for sharing your talent. God bless!
Making this for my youngest grand-daughter. She’ll love this!
is this worked in spirals?
yes
Hi Love this pattern, What to make it for a baby shower gift, 2 questions
1. What is fingering Yarn, I have never heard of it here in the UK?
2. What can I use in stead of beads for the eyes, I am worried that a baby may pull the beads out?
Thanks
Hi Terri, thanks!
1. Please have a look at this yarn weight chart https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yarn_weight
2. The safest way is embroidering the eyes, because babies can pull out even special safety eyes.
very cute
Thank you so much for sharing your very cute works!
This giraffe is so cute, may I sale finished product.
Yes, you can đ
Thank you đ
pattern for this giraffe does not say what size crochet hook to use. Or do you use same size hook for all these animals?
Hi Teresa, please have a look at the material list đ You can find the hook info there.
How long is the giraffe? Ty
The size of the giraffe depends on your yarn weight and hook size đ
Amei esta linda girafa!!!!
Estou crochetando uma e estĂĄ ficando linda!!!!!
Beijos
I’m a knitter .. I’ve never crocheted in my life, but this glorious pattern has inspired me to give it a go … it will take me some time [i’ll be checking back to the tutorials at just about every stage!], so please can you just reassure me that the pattern will be up here on the web for a few months. I’d hate to be part way through & find the pattern’s been removed.
I will happily buy the .pdf version when I can pay via PayPal, but my bank charges an extortionate fixed fee for each currency translation so the visa card isnt an option right now.
THANK YOU so much for posting this up.
x đ
Hi Suz, the pattern will be available đ
Muy Lindo Todo!!!, Muchas Gracias por Compartirlos.
My friend has asked me to show her how to make this adorable Giraffe. I am new to crochet myself and wondered if you have ever thought of doing a video of you making this Giraffe. I am more a visual learner than reading instructions.I see by the comments that quite a few of the questions could be shown how to be done easily if there was a video. I get a lot of my queries ironed out looking for videos.
I will endeavour to help my friend while waiting for you to reply.
Thanks so much for your time and effort placing this pattern on the internet.
Regards
Brenda

Hi Brenda đ Thank you for your kind words đč Took into consideration your desire )
Hi! Beginner here! When doing the body for example do you slip stitch every row and start again or you work in circle? Thanks in advance.
Hi Elisa, please work in continuous rounds without sl st at the end. When you change the colors please follow the instructions in this post https://amigurumi.today/crochet-rainbow-pony-amigurumi-pattern/ to get invisible color joints.
Can u please send me the
pattern of the scarf giraffe. Thanks u
Hi Mikkie, to crochet a scarf you should make a chain of appropriate length, then crochet two rows of double crochet stitches.
Me encanto la jirafa !! La quisiera hacer
Bonjour,
J’adore cette petite girafe .
Serait il possible d’avoir le tuto en français
Merci beaucoup
Martine
Hi Martine, all patterns are in English only.
Hi there-
This pattern is so cute! I am really having trouble with how to do the heart and have it looking right. I read your instructions for invisible color switching for the rainbow pony as you mentioned, and I’ve tried it several times but it doesn’t look right at all. I am new to crochet and maybe that’s my problem…Please help!
Made three of these already (one blue, one pink and one stripes without heart). Absolutely love the pattern – easy to follow and they come out so cute. I’ve made it in sport and worsted weight. Both came out great. Thank you, thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks for sharing your experience! đ đ·
Thank you so much for this pattern. Im in love with this giraffe and your instructions were very clear.
Thank you, Julia! đžâ€
Thank you so much for this wonderful pattern. I searched the comments and found out how to make the scarf and flower too. You are wonderful, I love all your patterns!!

Lovely pattern. Worked up very easy. I just love it
Love this working on it now, wow you are one nice person

Finished and need to see it together but I don’t know what to do with the head. I sewed it onto the body but it looks so messy. How do you attach the head neatly?
Wow you are very nice love this, working on it now, thank you so much
Esta lindo su trabajo quisiera aprender. Soy nueva. Tiene tutoriales en youtube. Basicos como para mi. Porfis.
Hi Thank you so much for sharing this gorgeous pattern. I am up to the point where I need to join the head but am finding it hard to do. I see from previous replies that you say you put up pictures of the side and back of the giraffe, unfortunately I can’t find these pictures, would it be possible to direct me to the images so that I can see what it should look like?
Again Thank you so much for sharing your amazing talent xx
Im haveing prob with my giraffe body, do u have a video for me to see, I am trying 2 days now it to smal long and not fat and rond, 1st timer reading a patten plz help
Hi,
I cant thank you enough for your website and patterns……free ones as well as the ones I am happily to pay for as the price is very reasonable and the instructions are extremely detailed.
I have just finished the Hearty Giraffe. I used Lily Sugar’n Cream 100% cotton…….which I think is 10ply. It has turned out brilliantly a lot bigger than the one in your photo, a perfect loveable Giraffe gift for a little 2 year old girl (in my case) or boy.
Hi Sharon đ Thank you so much for your kind feedback! đđčâ€
Does the purchased pattern include the directions for the boy and girl giraffe, shown in the FaceBook post?
It doesn’t include those directions.
Will they become available?
A friend would like the boy, for her due next week, grandson.
I’m sure I can figure it out, but would prefer not to. đ
Is the sweater part of the body or is it a seperate piece?
How did you make the tie?
Will patterns for the boy and girl giraffes, shown on FaceBook, be available soon?
Thanks for sharing. Mommy to be wanted a giraffe, after hours of looking over patterns this was by far the easiest to read and crochet.. So cute!!!!! Thanks for your kindness to share…
Thank you, Rhonda! đ·đ
I’m 4 months pregnant and just finshed a blanket am gonna make the giraffe now using the cream lemon and mint colours. I think it will be the perfect welcome home present for when baby is born x thanks for the pattern x
Great! đ·đ Thank you!

I have never made an amigrumi of any kind, just blanket/scarfs/hats…for 25 yrs! Would LOVE to make this. Is this considered easy to make? I’m not a beginner, but most definitely not advanced. TIA
Yes, it’s not difficult đ
Holaa cuanta lana lleva?? Soy nueva y aun no me hago una idea de cuanto lleva.. me encantaaa. Desde ya muchas gracias..
I really enjoyed making this lovely giraffe. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Thank you, Danielle!
Love your tutorial. I made the head…at what row do you add the eyes?
Thank you!
Do you have a picture of the back of the head once itâs sewn onto to the body. I feel like the extra rows on the body will look like a flap on the back of the head?
Thank you to much for these pattern. I buy on shop Amirurumi Today, i’ts cute! I leave in Paris, France, Europe!
Merci beaucoup, Brigitte! đč
Hello, I wanted to thank you for such a cute (and free) pattern! It was easy to understand and it was really fun to make for my friend’s daughter as her birthday is coming up. I also wanted to show you what I ended up with since I changed the color scheme and added a border around the heart: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/irisamiller/hearty-giraffe-by-amigurumi-today
The only “trouble” I had was with the placement of the head, as I think she’s looking too far up (I lined up the back of the head with the top of the neck), but since I am planning on making a giraffe for myself later, I can certainly make sure she’s looking more “towards the front” then up đ
Thank you again! <3
Hi:
I am having a real problem with the heart…rows 14 through 22 of the body….This is my second attempt and it’s just not lining up….
Hi, can you tell me the instructions for the scarf?
Thanks.
Great and so easy to do the best part for me was joining the head to the neck worked out perfect đ
What kind of yarns that used for this giraffe? Can I used polyester? And how many yarns you need to make the body?
Thank you
Hi Rini đ This is fine (4 ply) semi-cotton yarn.
Can anyone help with the sewing it together instructions please
Thank you so much for this pattern!
Can you please tell me the quantity of yarn in each colour is required. Iâm using 4ply yarn cotton and acrylic mix.
Thank you so much for sharing this pattern. I crocheted one for my niece and my 13 year old daughter painstakingly assembled it. We all loved the outcome, especially more, the recipient.
Thank you! đđč

I am almost ready to assemble the giraffe. Is there a side view of the head you could send so I know where to place head and ears etc. Love this pattern! Canât wait to have it all done
Are these single crochets in US or UK terms?
US crochet terms
Hi, thanks for the pattern it’s amazing, but I have a Lil’ problem with how to assemble the part of the doll, can you help me?
Which problem?
I like it. Very kind and lovely….
Tanks for sharing this pattern for free
This is advertised as a free pattern, yet I am not able to access it. I love giraffes and want to make this for a friend, but I think it is unfair that it is advertised as “free” yet the only way to get it is to get a PDF.
Hi Kath đ You can use online versions of the patterns for free on our website and mobile app. PDF version itself is not free. Because it takes a lot of time to prepare the patterns. So, in spite of this fact all people who canât pay for PDF patterns can view them on the website and make wonderful toys. Hope for your understanding đ
Trying to finish I see in the comments on how to assemble the Hearty Giraffe ,but I don’t see any thing on how to , is there anything on how or can you post something please
In what round can I place the eyes? Thanks
Oi Lindoso… Qual.li hĂĄs vc usou e qual o tamanho q ficou?
Hello
I don t understand how to assemble thé head to thé body ?
Thank you
wondering samething and placements of eyes
Hi this is such a lovely pattern. Thanks for sharing it for free. I am planning to use 8 ply. Please advise in amigurumi if I double the stitches all through the pattern, will that help to increase the size of the toy.
If you use thicker yarn, your toy will be bigger as well. You don’t need to double the stitches, it’s not recommended.
Hi there, I have read all the comments about assemblying everything. You say its up to you. This is my second amigurumi I have made. I cannot visualise which row would be the best to put the eyes in. Would you mind giving some advice on this. My step son loves giraffes and i have changed the heart to be an O . I cant wait to finish this beautiful pattern
Adorei este padrĂŁo! Estou crochetando e espero que fique bom….
Muito grata por compartilhar este lindo trabalho! đ
Qual o tamanho dela?
Thank you very much…its gorgeous đ
Where are the instructions for putting the giraffe together. I enjoyed making it but nothing about putting together.
I bought the pattern hoping that it would have the placement of the eyes, horns and ears. Could you tell me between what rows the eyes should be placed?
Hello đ This is such a beautiful pattern and I have enjoyed making it so much.
Some patterns I have used say I obviously can’t sell the pattern but I can sell the finished product if I give reference to the creators of the pattern.
For this hearty giraffe is this the case? Can I make small quantities to sell the finished product if I of course give credit to the creators? I’ve always wanted to start a small stall at our local market. Mainly baby blankets but I would love to have a few toys to go along with them.
I just don’t want to do the wrong thing thank you for your help đ
Hi đ You can sell your finished toys giving a credit to our website, but no more than 50 items per month đ
IMG_3746.HEIC
I used variegated yarn instead of changing colors for stripes on the arms and legs- I love it! Thanks for such an easy, clear pattern!
Is there a pattern for the beautiful scarf
Love love love your giraffe! Found the pattern very easy to follow. Thank you so much for the free patternđ
Me podrĂas aydar Con la vuelta del cuerpo 21*
Hi,
I love this giraffe. It’s going to be a music box…
But are there instructions how to assemble the pieces, please??? I guessed for the eyes as I had to fasten the security eyes before stuffing and finishing the head. Now I find it rather hard to find the correct positions for the ears and horns. I’m not finished with arms and legs yet but expect the same difficulty…
Hope anyone can help… Thx
Hello, I wanted to print this pattern but it will not let me? Anything I can do so I can? I would very much like to start on this one because it’s so adorable!!. Hope to hear something soon!
