Giraffe baby rattle crochet pattern

Giraffe baby rattle crochet pattern designed by Amigurumi Today

This eye-catching crochet giraffe rattle is a great sensory toy for baby and oh so pretty to look at! Create it with all your love and care for your little one with the help of our step-by-step rattle crochet pattern.

One important note before you start – crochet toys with small plastic parts should not be given to children under the age of 3! We strongly recommend embroidering eyes instead of using plastic eyes. Better safe than sorry!

Supplies:

  • Yarnart Jeans (55% cotton, 45% acrylic; 160 m / 50 g) in yellow, brown, pale yellow (or beige) and coral pink colors
  • 2.0 mm crochet hook
  • Black embroidery floss
  • Reliable safety eyes (7-8 mm) or thread for eye embroidering
  • Fiberfill for stuffing
  • Little plastic egg/container (like Kinder Surprise egg) with beads
  • Scissors and tapestry needle

Skill level: easy

The size of finished crochet rattle is about 15 cm (5.9″) with horns.

I bought the pattern for the Forest Spirit. But I’m confused where I start the legs. Do I crochet 9 and make the leg. Then count 18 and make nine and crochet other legal. But the legs look bigger.

Hi, I bought the pattern to do this lovely rattle toy. If I credit you as the designer, may I sell the finished products online? Thank you for your answer 🙂

Can i mix this and head of cuddle me fox? I just don’t know if head would be big enough? I hope that you understand what I mean.

Yes, you can 🙂 But please adjust the size of the ring according to the fox head.

It concerns me that you use plastic safety eyes on baby items. They really are not safe for children who chew and put things in their mouths. They do pull out of stitches and have a point that can damage them if they swallow it even with the back on

If you read it properly, you’ll see she highly recommends embroidering eyes if child is under 3.

Please use thinner yarn and smaller hook, in that case your toy will be smaller.

Hi, could someone help me out with the semi-ring? When adding a single chain in the beginning of each round, is the stitch amount supposed to remain constant throughout the entire piece? I keep getting +1 stitch in every layer when I add that single chain and I guess the ring’s not supposed to get wider each round? Thanks in advance 🙂

Hello. Thank you for sharing this wonderful pattern. I was wondering if you have a giraffe doll along with this pattern? If so, can you share it with me. Hope to hear back to you soon.

I am starting to assemble the giraffe rattle. Where is the mouth supposed to be sewn? I don’t see a mouth on your sample.
Thank you btw, it’s so cute! I can’t wait to finish it.

I cannot print the pattern for some reason. It keeps showing a “Legal: message and prevents me from printing the pattern. Why?
