To crochet this amigurumi mermaid you need:
- Fine (4 ply) yarn Yarnart Jeans (55% cotton, 45% acrylic; 160 m / 50 g)
- 2.0 mm crochet hook by Tulip
- 8 mm safety eyes
- Fiberfill
- Some yarn of desired texture for hair
- Sewing needle and scissors
The finished crochet mermaid is about 14 cm (5.5″) tall, if you use the same yarn and hook. The amigurumi pattern can also work well with the yarn of other weight, but the size of finished doll can be different.

What type of yarn was used for the hair?
Boucle yarn
I don’t understand how you make the hair curly. The yarn I saw on the link was not.
It’s boucle yarn

Encantada pelos seus padrões. Você tem um talento incrível. Obrigada por compartilhar 🙏♥️
Hello,
I am not sure, but I think there is a mistake in the belt instruction for round 29.
Because there ist written “sc in next 30 st”, but the round 29 of the body only has 26 st, so its not possible to make sc in next 30 st.
Please correct me if I am wrong! 🙂
But anyway, I really love this pattern and I have already made an little “Arielle” for myself 😉
Thank you for this very nice pattern!
Best regards, Jasmin
Thank you, it’s a typo 🙂
is the yarn verigated for the hair. How do you get the different colors in the hair, That’s what makes this pattern stand out.
I can’t figure out how to do the belt. Do you crochet the belt separate from the body and then attach?
Thanks for sharing! I shall make my grandaughter a few ‘friends’. Love your creativity and your pages. P.S. The hair was clear to me, it’s specialty yarn, would love to use yarn with sequins in it for these little mermaids! Adorable!
Me animé a hacer una, y es muy sencilla de hacer (es mi tercer proyecto de amigurumi apenas), la verdad pensé que iba a ser más difícil.
Muchas gracias por compartir!!! 🙂
Is there some kind of a substitute for the eyes. I am unable to get the safety eyes
