To crochet the bat you need:
- Medium (worsted weight) yarn with plush velour texture Himalaya Dolphin Baby (120 m / 100 g): gray color 80320 – one skein, pink color 80309 – one skein and a half
- Some fine (4ply) cotton yarn in white color for teeth
- 4.0 mm crochet hook for bat
- 2.0 mm crochet hook for teeth
- 18 mm safety eyes
- Pink embroidery thread for nostrils
- Fiberfill
- Scissors and sewing needle
The finished amigurumi bat is about 28 cm (11″) tall including ears. Pay attention, the size of your amigurumi depends on yarn weight and hook size.

Free Halloween Crochet Pattern
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
st = stitch
sc = single crochet
inc = increase (2 st in one st)
dec = decrease (2 st together)
sl st = slip stitch
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
(..) = repeat the instructions in brackets the given number of times
[..] = total number of stitches
Crochet in continuous rounds, unless otherwise specified. Mark the beginning of each round with a stitch marker or a yarn scrap.
Legs (make 2):
Crochet 6 toes for each foot with gray yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
Rnd 2-3: sc in all 6 st [6]
Don’t fasten off when finishing the 3rd toe, continue to crochet joining all three toes together.
Rnd 4: sc in next 3 st on 3rd toe, sc in next 3 st on 2nd toe, sc in next 6 st on 1st toe, sc in next 3 st on 2nd toe, sc in next 3 st on 3rd toe [18]
Rnd 5: (sc in next 4 st, dec) repeat 3 times [15]
Rnd 6: (sc in next 3 st, dec) repeat 3 times [12]
Sc in next st. Stitch marker is at the side.
Rnd 7: (hdc dec) x 3 times, (sc in next st, sc inc) repeat 3 times [12]
Rnd 8: (hdc dec) x 2 times, hdc in next st, (sc in next st, sc inc) repeat 3 times, hdc in next st [13]
Rnd 9: (hdc dec) x 3 times, (sc inc) x 5 times, hdc dec [14]
Stuff with fiberfill.
Rnd 10: hdc in next 4 st, sc inc, sc in next 7 st, sc inc, sc in next st [16]
Rnd 11: hdc in next 5 st, sc in next 10 st, hdc in next st [16]
Rnd 12: sc in next 6 st, inc, sc in next 7 st, inc, sc in next st [18]

Sc in next 4 st. Stitch marker is at the back now. Stuff. Make the second leg in the same way. When finishing the second leg, don’t fasten off, continue working on the body.
