Timmy the Dog Amigurumi Pattern


This is Timmy, an adorable amigurumi dog dressed in baby jumpsuit, looking for cuddles!

To crochet Timmy the Dog you will need:

  • For dog: 8 ply yarn (70% cotton, 30% polyamide; 105 m / 50 g) of brown and beige colors
  • For jumpsuit: 100% acrylic 4 ply yarn (200 m / 50 g) of blue color
  • 2.0 mm crochet hook
  • 9 mm safety eyes
  • Embroidery floss of white and black colors for muzzle
  • Fiberfill
  • Sewing needle and scissors

The size of finished amigurumi dog is about 16 cm.

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
st = stitch
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
inc = increase
dec = decrease
sl st = slip stitch
(..) = repeat the space in brackets the given number of times
[..] = total number of stitches

Timmy the Dog is crocheted in continuous spirals without joining the rounds. We suggest using a stitch marker or different color yarn to keep track of each round.

Head:
Crochet in continuous rounds. Stuff as you go after inserting eyes.
Start with beige yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
Rnd 3: (sc in next st, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc) repeat 6 times [24]
Rnd 5-7: sc in all 24 st [24]
Change to brown yarn.
Rnd 8: (sc in next 3 st, inc) repeat 6 times [30]
Rnd 9: (sc in next 4 st, inc) repeat 6 times [36]
Rnd 10: sc in next 14 st, dc in next 8 st, sc in next 14 st [36]
Rnd 11: (sc in next 5 st, inc) repeat 6 times [42]
Rnd 12: sc in all 42 st [42]
Rnd 13: (sc in next 5 st, dec) repeat 6 times [36]
Rnd 14: sc in all 36 st [36]
Insert safety eyes between Rnd 7 and Rnd 8 (8 st between the eyes, right above 8 dc of Rnd 10).
Rnd 15: (sc in next 4 st, dec) repeat 6 times [30]
Rnd 16: sc in all 30 st [30]
Rnd 17: (sc in next 3 st, dec) repeat 6 times [24]
Rnd 18: sc in all 24 st [24]
Rnd 19: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 20: sc in all 18 st [18]
Rnd 21: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 6 times [12]
Rnd 22: (dec) repeat 6 times [6]
Decrease till the hole is closed. Fasten off and weave in the end.

Ears:
Make one ear with brown yarn. Start crocheting the second ear with beige yarn, change it to brown color after Rnd 5.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
Rnd 3: (sc in next st, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 4-6: sc in all 18 st [18]
Rnd 7: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 6 times [12]
Rnd 8-10: sc in all 12 st [12]
Rnd 11: (dec) repeat 6 times [6]
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Arms:
Crochet with brown yarn. Stuff only the bottom part of the arms.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
Rnd 3-5: sc in all 12 st [12]
Rnd 6: (dec) repeat 4 times, sc in next 4 st [8]
Rnd 7-15: sc in all 8 st [8]
Fold in half and crochet sc in next 4 st through both layers. Fasten off and weave in the end.

Body:
Crochet with brown yarn. Stuff as you go.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
Rnd 3: (sc in next st, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc) repeat 6 times [24]

    Hi! Thank you so much for the Timmy the dog pattern. But I have a question for the head row 10. How this row still has 36 stiches like the row 9 since you mention we have to make decrease at 8 Stiches?

    Many thanks for the clarification as I have totally messed up :-/

    Hi, I have a question. For the head, on round 10, is the stitch count correct? I keep coming up with only 32, instead of 36 stitches, which throws off the rest of the pattern for the head.
