Gift:
Box:
Row 1: 8 ch, sc in the next 7 ch beginning form the second chain, turn.
Row 2-6: sc in all 7 st, turn, 1 ch further crochet forward and backward:
Row 7: in back loops sc in all 7 st, turn, 1 ch
Row 8-12: in both loops sc in all 7 st, turn, 1 ch
Row 13: in back loops sc in all 7 st, turn, 1 ch
Row 14-18: in both loops sc in all 7 st, turn, 1 ch
Row 19: in back loops sc in all 7 st, turn, 1 ch
Row 20-23: in both loops sc in all 7 st, turn, 1 ch
Row 24: in both loops sc in all 7 st
Cut the yarn leaving along tail, sew the first and the last rounds in back loops only, imitating one more “rib”. Hide the yarn ends.

Bottom:
Crochet a square – 6 rows of 6 sc (starting with 7 ch), leave a long tail and sew the bottom to the first detail.
Cut 5 squares from the cardboard and fix them on the bottom and walls of the box to make it more firm. Stuff with polyfill or yarn scraps.

Cover:
Row 1-8: Crochet a square – 8 rows of 8 sc. Start with 9 ch, then sc in the second ch from hook, sc in all ch till the end, turn, 1 ch, and continue working on 2-nd and other rows in the same manner.
Rnd 9: Don’t cut the yarn and crochet around the edge of the square (that is along the square perimeter, you get 8 sc at each side, 32 sc along the whole edge).
Rnd 10: (dec, sc in the next 6 st) repeat 4 times [28]
Cut the yarn and hide the ends.
Put the cover on the box, tie with a ribbon or thread if you wish.

Assembly:
Put a hat on the head. Try on the muzzle, eyes, ears and sew / glue them in place. The eyes are between Rounds 11 and 14, and a nose between Round 10 and 15, counting from the top of the head. It means that you get a very high forehead without a head, that’s why the hat can’t be taken off.

After decorating the head try on the legs and arms and pin in place. Check that the teddy can sit (the tail gives balance at the back) and sew all parts in place.

Sew the gift to the arms. Add cheek blush with soft pastel or rouge / eye shadows, tie a scarf on the neck. The crochet teddy bear is done!
