Try this easy free crochet raccoon pattern! The pattern instructions contain the description of accessories: scarf and cookie. The size of finished crochet toy is about 13 cm. If you’re just a beginner the pattern is perfect for you! 🙂

To crochet the raccoon you will need:

  • Grey, white and black yarn for the raccoon’s body
  • Yarn for the scarf of any colour you wish
  • Some brown yarn for cookie
  • 2.0 mm crochet hook
  • Stuffing
  • Safety eyes or beads

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dec = decrease
inc = increase

Arms (make 2) with grey yarn
Rnd 1: 4 sc in a magic ring
Rnd 2: (inc) repeat 4 times [8]
Rnd 3-14: sc in all 8 st [8]
Rnd 15: Fold in half and crochet 4 sc through both layers. Stuff not very tightly till the middle.
Fasten off and cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing.

Legs (make 2) with grey yarn
Rnd 1: 5 sc in a magic ring
Rnd 2: (inc) repeat 5 times [10]
Rnd 3-17: sc in all 10 st [10]
Stuff not very tightly till the middle.
Fasten off and cut the yarn of the first leg.
Don’t cut the yarn of the second leg, fold the leg in half and crochet 5 sc through both layers, 2 ch, fold the first leg in half and crochet 5 sc through both layers. Continue crocheting the body.

Body:

Fasten off black and white yarn, cut off, leaving long tails for sewing.

Accessories:
Scarf:
60 ch + 2 lifting ch, crochet 60 hdc along the chain, 2 lifting chains, turn, crochet 60 hdc. Fasten off, cut the yarn, hide the end.
Add fringes if you wish.

Cookie:
Crochet 2 beige parts. To get even circles crochet sl st at the end of each round.
Rnd 1: 8 sc in a magic ring.
Rnd 2: (inc) repeat 8 times [16]
Rnd 3: (sc in the next st, inc) repeat 8 times [24]
Rnd 4: (sc in the next 2 st, inc) repeat 8 times [32]
Put two parts together with wrong sides to each other and crochet around increasing evenly 8 times. Embroider chocolate spots with brown yarn.

Head: with grey yarn
Stuff tightly as you go to keep round shape well. If you use safety eyes, sew the eye patches and insert eyes while crocheting. Fasten off and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Crochet raccoon with scarf - free amigurumi pattern - head

Assembly:
Sew ears symmetrically to the head between Rounds 4 and 7.
Sew parts of the eye patches at 2 sc from each other between Rounds 9 and 16.

Sew the muzzle on top of the eye patches between Rounds 13 and 16, put a little stuffing inside the muzzle.

Embroider a nose and a mouth if you wish. Sew the head to the body adding a little stuffing into the neck for the head not to bend. Sew the arms at the sides of the body and a tail at the back. Tie the scarf and present a cookie 😀
