To crochet snowman you’ll need:
- 100% acrylic yarn of white colour (50 g / 200 m)
- Yarn of brown, orange, blue and gray colours (50% merino wool, 50% synthetic fiber; 50 g / 225 m)
- 2 mm crochet hook
- Stuffing
- Scissors
- Sewing needle
- Knitting needles for scarf (optional)
- Safety eyes (or any other, you may use beads or buttons)
- Buttons of different colours for decoration

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
inc = increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec = decrease (2 sc together)
Note that two yarn types used for the toy are slightly different in weight, that’s why if you use the yarn of one type for the whole snowman, toy proportions may be a little bit different.
Head:
With white yarn:
Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
Rnd 3: (sc in the next st, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 4: (sc in the next 2 st, inc) repeat 6 times [24]
Rnd 5: (sc in the next 3 st, inc) repeat 6 times [30]
Rnd 6: (sc in the next 4 st, inc) repeat 6 times [36]
Rnd 7: (sc in the next 5 st, inc) repeat 6 times [42]
Rnd 8: (sc in the next 6 st, inc) repeat 6 times [48]
Rnd 9-13: sc in all 48 st (5 rounds)
Rnd 14: (sc in the next 6 st, dec) repeat 6 times [42]
Rnd 15: (sc in the next 5 st, dec) repeat 6 times [36]
Rnd 16: (sc in the next 4 st, dec) repeat 6 times [30]
Rnd 17: (sc in the next 3 st, dec) repeat 6 times [24]
Insert the eyes between Rnd 13 and 14 at the distance of 9 sc from each other.
Rnd 18: (sc in the next 2 st, dec) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 19: (sc in the next st, dec) repeat 6 times [12]
Fasten off, cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff till the end.
Carrot-nose:
With orange yarn:
Rnd 1: 4 sc in a magic ring [4]
Rnd 2: inc, sc in the next 3 st [5]
Rnd 3: inc, sc in the next 4 st [6]
Rnd 4: inc, sc in the next 5 st [7]
Rnd 5: inc, sc in the next 6 st [8]
Fasten off, cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the nose to the head.
Body:
With white yarn:

Rnd 3: (sc in the next st, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 4: (sc in the next 2 st, inc) repeat 6 times [24]

Fasten off, cut the yarn and weave in the end. Stuff till the end. Sew the head to the body.
Legs (make 2):
With white yarn:
Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
Rnd 3: (sc in the next st, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 4-6: sc in all 18 st (3 rounds)
Rnd 7: (sc in the next 4 st, dec) repeat 3 times [15]
Fasten off, cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing Stuff and sew legs to the body.
Stick arms (make 2):
With brown yarn:
Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2-5: sc in all 6 st (4 rounds)
Fasten off and cut the yarn leaving not very long tail. Crochet the same part, but don’t cut the yarn. Join parts to each other in two stitches with the yarn tail. Join them by crocheting around both of them.
Rnd 6: 4 sc along the first stick, 4 sc along the second stick [8]
Rnd 7: dec, sc in the next 6 st [7]
Rnd 8-12: sc in all 7 st (5 rounds)
Rnd 13: inc, sc in the next 6 st [8]
Fasten off, cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff the arms a little and sew to the body. You may insert a wire carcass.
