Perhaps you can clue me in as to how to download this “free” pattern? I can’t print the pattern, only the comments and the “download PDF” option takes me to a $3.99 downloadable pattern.

    Thanks!

I don’t understand how you “crochet additional sc in next st” but the stitch count doesn’t change by 1… am I missing something?

Yes, it doesn’t change because you don’t make any increases by crocheting sc in next st.

I’m happy with the result, but I had two problems with the pattern: First was the additional stitches in the body and the head. Once added, they changed the count — although the next row did not reflect that changed count. AND there was never an explanation of why those extra stitches were needed, or what they were for. Puzzling.

The second problem was attaching the head. The head on mine was really too heavy for the body, so to solve that I used a section of chopstick to create a spine. That worked. Then it was just difficult figuring out where the head would fit and how to really secure it there. (I hope my great-grandson will actually PLAY with this triceratop, so I don’t wanted him to behead it at his first outing.)

(Also, I tried to add a photo to this comment, but was not able to do that. Take my word for it: He is very cute!)

Please help – I dont understand either. Does this additional sc mean crochet 2 sc into same stitch (ie the first stitch of the next round)or does it mean the same as crochet 1sc then sc 6 (or sc7) decrease at the start of the round then sc 6 dec for rest of the round? I thought it might be designed to line up the decs but then you are a stitch short at the end of the round??

I found if you work into the nubs at the back of the first chain when you turn you can clearly see the ‘v’ s of the chain to continue. I’d also say use a stitch marker at the beginning of each round it really helps.

Hi I am making this with some leftover cotton from another project which is coming out much bigger than your version so I would like to make it from yarn art as suggested too. Please could you indicate how much of the main colour is required as I have to order online to get yarn art thread and dont want to over order or have to reorder and get a different dye lot? Thanks x

All I see is the instructions for the head and the frill. Then the pattern just stops and the comments start. Yes, I made an account. Yes I am signed in. Am I missing a page 2? Or is it because I am on a mobile? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
