ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
sl st = slip stitch
inc = increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec = decrease (2 sc together)
The toy is crocheted in joined rounds with a chain at the beginning of each round. It’s more convenient that way. It’s possible to crochet in spiral, but you will need a stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round and not to lose the count of stitches and rounds.
It’s a bit difficult to crochet with fluffy yarn: loops are not clearly visible, that’s why you need to count stitches.
Head (make 1):

The part should be as a square due to the increases in the corners. Make it more square-like by pulling at the corners.
