To crochet this Boston Terrier you’ll need:
- Light worsted yarn (DK / 8 ply) – 70% cotton, 30% wool; 105 m / 50 g
- 3.0 mm crochet hook
- 12 mm safety eyes
- Polyester fiberfill
- Black embroidery floss for muzzle and paws
- Some white felt for eyes
- Safety plastic nose
- Stitch markers
The size of finished amigurumi puppy is about 15 cm (5.9″) with ears.

st = stitch
sc = single crochet
inc = increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec = decrease (2 sc together)
sl st = slip stitch
dc = double crochet
FPDC = front post double crochet
BPDC = back post double crochet

[..] = total number of stitches

Crochet the puppy continuously in a spiral (unless otherwise specified), marking the beginning of each round with a stitch marker.
Head:
Crochet with black yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
Rnd 3: (sc in next st, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc) repeat 6 times [24]
Rnd 5: (sc in next 3 st, inc) repeat 6 times [30]
Rnd 6: (sc in next 4 st, inc) repeat 6 times [36]
Rnd 7: (sc in next 5 st, inc) repeat 6 times [42]
Rnd 8: (sc in next 6 st, inc) repeat 6 times [48]
Rnd 9-16: sc in all 48 st [48]
Rnd 17: (sc in next 6 st, dec) repeat 6 times [42]
Rnd 18: (sc in next 5 st, dec) repeat 6 times [36]
Rnd 19: (sc in next 4 st, dec) repeat 6 times [30]
Preparing eyes for insertion:
Cut out two circles from white felt. They should be slightly larger than your safety eyes. Make small holes in the center of the felt circles, suitable for inserting an eye in them.
Place safety eyes with felt circles between Rnd 11 and Rnd 12, at the distance of 9-10 stitches from each other. Fix the eyes from the inside. Now you can start stuffing the head.
Rnd 20: (sc in next 3 st, dec) repeat 6 times [24]
Rnd 21: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 22: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 6 times [12]
Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing. Stuff the head firmly.
Outer ears (make 2):
Work with black yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: (sc in next st, inc) repeat 3 times [9]
Rnd 3: sc in all 9 st [9]
Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc) repeat 3 times [12]
Rnd 5: sc in all 12 st [12]
Rnd 6: (sc in next 3 st, inc) repeat 3 times [15]

Don’t stuff. Flatten the ear and crochet sc in next 9 st through both layers. Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.
Inner ears (make 2):
Crochet with beige yarn in turning rows. Make 3 ch, continue crocheting from the second ch from your hook.
Row 1: sc in next 2 st, 1 ch and turn.
Row 2: sc in next st, inc, 1 ch and turn.
Row 3: sc in next 2 st, inc, 1 ch and turn.
Row 4-5: sc in next 4 st, 1 ch and turn.
Row 6: sc in all 4 st.
Crochet slip stitches along all three sides of the triangle to make the edges smooth. Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.
Muzzle spot:
Crochet with beige yarn in turning rows. Make 3 ch, continue crocheting from the second ch from your hook.
Row 1: sc in next 2 ch, 1 ch and turn.
Row 2: sc in next st, inc, 1 ch and turn.
Row 3: sc in next 2 st, inc, 1 ch and turn.
Row 4: sc in next 3 st, inc, 1 ch and turn.
Row 5: sc in next 4 st, inc, 1 ch and turn.
Row 6: sc in next 5 st, inc, 1 ch and turn.

The math for 2nd row in the muzzle doesn’t add up, I’ve counted it 4 times and it doesn’t go a full row.
The pattern only use 16 stitches out of the 18 we have and the amount add up to 24 and not 22(and still leaves 2 unused stitches in the row)
