To crochet this Beagle puppy you’ll need:
- Light worsted yarn (DK / 8 ply) – 70% cotton, 30% wool; 105 m / 50 g
- 3.0 mm crochet hook
- 12 mm safety eyes
- Polyester fiberfill
- Black embroidery floss for muzzle and paws
- Some white felt for eyes
- Safety plastic nose
- Stitch markers
- Satin ribbons
The size of finished amigurumi Beagle puppy is about 12 cm (4.7″) with ears.

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
st = stitch
sc = single crochet
inc = increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec = decrease (2 sc together)
sl st = slip stitch
(..) = repeat the instructions in brackets the given number of times
[..] = total number of stitches
Crochet the puppy continuously in a spiral (unless otherwise specified), marking the beginning of each round with a stitch marker.
Head:
Crochet with brown yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
Rnd 3: (sc in next st, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc) repeat 6 times [24]
Rnd 5: (sc in next 3 st, inc) repeat 6 times [30]
Rnd 6: (sc in next 4 st, inc) repeat 6 times [36]
Rnd 7: (sc in next 5 st, inc) repeat 6 times [42]
Rnd 8: (sc in next 6 st, inc) repeat 6 times [48]
Rnd 9-16: sc in all 48 st [48]
Rnd 17: (sc in next 6 st, dec) repeat 6 times [42]

Preparing eyes for insertion:
Cut out two circles from white felt. They should be slightly larger than your safety eyes. Make small holes in the center of the felt circles, suitable for inserting an eye in them.
Place safety eyes with felt circles between Rnd 11 and Rnd 12, at the distance of 8-9 stitches from each other. Fix the eyes from the inside. Now you can start stuffing the head.
Rnd 20: (sc in next 3 st, dec) repeat 6 times [24]
Rnd 21: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 6 times [18]
Rnd 22: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 6 times [12]
Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing. Stuff the head firmly.
Muzzle:
Crochet 8 ch with beige yarn. Continue working from the second ch from hook.
Rnd 1: sc in next 6 st, 4 sc in next st, turn and continue crocheting on the other side of foundation chain: sc in next 5 st, 3 sc in next st [18]
Rnd 2: sc in next 2 st, 3 sc together (like decrease but with 3 st instead of 2), sc in next 2 st, inc, inc, sc in next 2 st, inc, sc in next st, inc, sc in next 2 st, inc, inc [22]
Rnd 3: sc in next st, dec, dec, sc in next st, inc, sc in next st, inc, sc in next 2 st, inc, sc in next 4 st, inc, sc in next 2 st, inc, sc in next st, inc [26]
Rnd 4: sc in all 26 st [26]
Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.

Work with brown yarn.

Don’t stuff. Flatten the ear and crochet sc in next 7 st through both layers. Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.
Muzzle spot:
Crochet with beige yarn in turning rows. Make 3 ch, continue crocheting from the second ch from your hook.
Row 1: sc in next 2 ch, 1 ch and turn.
Row 2: inc, inc, 1 ch and turn.
Row 3-6: sc in next 4 st, 1 ch and turn.
Row 7: sc in next 4 st.
Crochet slip stitches along the sides of the muzzle spot to make the edges smooth. Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.
Body:
Crochet with brown yarn.
